MLB: Florida 8, Seattle 3

SEATTLE, June 19 (UPI) -- Two runs homers by Mike Jacobs and Dan Uggla Wednesday lifted Florida to an 8-3 triumph over Seattle.

After ending an eight-game home losing streak and winning for just the fourth time in 15 games Tuesday, the Mariners outhit the Marlins 13-11 only to be undone by the long ball.

Jacobs hit his 17th homer of the season in the third to break a 1-1 tie and Uggla delivered his 21st blast in the sixth to make it 7-2.

Rookie Ryan Tucker (2-1), making his third major league start, got the win by allowing two runs on seven hits in six innings.

R.A. Dickey (1-3) was touched for five runs in 3 2/3 innings to take the loss.

Jacobs added an RBI single in the fourth. Florida moved within two games of first-place Philadelphia in the National League East after the Phillies lost their second straight to Boston earlier in the day.
