ROCKY MOUNT, N.C., June 18 (UPI) -- Arizona Cardinals running back J.J. Arrington was charged with disorderly conduct Wednesday after a fight outside a Rocky Mount, N.C., nightclub, police said.
A police report by the Rocky Mount (N.C.) Telegram said that Arrington and four other men were charged after an off-duty officer called for assistance when a fight broke out at the D & I Event Center early Wednesday morning.
Police said that the three-year veteran, a Rocky Mount native, had consumed alcohol.
Officials at the Nash County jail told the newspaper that they did not know how long he was detained. Other details surrounding the fight were not listed in Arrington's arrest report.
A Cardinals spokesman told the Arizona Republic in Phoenix that the team was aware of the incident and was seeking more information.
Arrington, 25, was a second-round pick in the 2005 NFL draft by the Cardinals out of California and has scored twice after gaining 467 yards on 152 carries.
