
PHILADELPHIA, June 18 (UPI) -- J.D. Drew's three-run first inning homer ignited Boston's 7-4 victory at Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon.
The right-fielder's 13th homer this season preceded a solo blast by Mike Lowell and was one of his four hits and four RBI.
Boston's Brandon Moss knocked in two runs with a third inning single.
Dustin Pedroia had three hits and scored twice and Sean Casey had two hits for the Red Sox, who won twice in the three-game series between AL East and NL East leaders.
Winner Justin Masterson (4-1) surrendered two earned runs and four hits in five innings and after three other relievers, closer Jonathan Papelbon registered his 21st save.
Philadelphia got a two-run single in the seventh from Pedro Feliz and one RBI each from Ryan Howard and Jayson Werth.
Six players had one hit each for the Phillies, who have dropped four of their last five games.
Losing pitcher Kyle Kendrick (6-3) surrendered six earned runs and six hits in three innings.
