SALT LAKE CITY, June 17 (UPI) -- Larry Miller, owner of the Utah Jazz, remains hospitalized with complications of diabetes, his family said.
Miller's son Greg told reporters in a conference call that his 64-year-old father was taken to the hospital last week, the Salt Lake Tribune reported. He did not feel well last Tuesday, visited his doctor and then was driven to a hospital by his wife.
"The good news here is that we're headed for a recovery, not for a funeral," Greg Miller said. "Unfortunately, he's neglected himself for too long and now he's paying the price for that and his body's just telling him to just slow down and start paying attention to it, I think."
Greg Miller said the family discussed whether his father should cut down on his business activities and decided he would be better off if he keeps working. In addition to the Jazz, Miller owns car dealerships, sports facilities, KJZZ TV, a movie theater chain and the Salt Lake Bees baseball team.
Greg Miller said his father has been signing papers from his hospital bed.
