SEATTLE, June 17 (UPI) -- Andrew Miller held the Seattle Mariners to one run over seven innings Monday in a 6-1 Florida Marlins victory.
Miller scattered six hits en route to improving his record to 5-5 and helping Florida end a three-game losing streak.
The Marlins' offense was led by Luis Gonzalez, who drove in two runs. Jeremy Hermida, Dan Ugla, Cody Ross and Mike Jacobs each drove in a run for the winners.
Carlos Silva (3-8) took the loss and was booted from the game for arguing a safe call at first base. Silva went just 4 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk with four strikeouts. He hasn't earned a victory since April 17 against Oakland, going 0-8 with three no-decisions over that span.
Kenji Johjima knocked in the lone run for Seattle, which extended its home losing streak to eight games.
