'S-HERTOGENBOSCH, Netherlands, June 17 (UPI) -- Second-seeded Richard Gasquet was ousted in a tight match Tuesday at the Ordina Open tennis tournament in the Netherlands.
Gasquet came up short to Marc Gicquel, losing 7-5, 7-6 (8-6). Gasquet dropped his own serve just once but failed to cash in any of the seven break points he managed against Gicquel.
Also upset Tuesday was fifth-seeded Igor Andreev, who was ousted, 6-4, 1-6, 6-1, by Jurgen Melzer. Gicquel and Melzer draw each other in the quarterfinals.
Top-seeded David Ferrer advanced to the tournament quarterfinals with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) win over Massimo Dell'Acqua. Ferrer will next go against Mario Ancic, who ran his Ordina winning streak to 12 matches with a 6-2, 6-4 romp over Steve Darcis. Ancic didn't play in the event in 2007 but won it in 2005 and 2006.
One of Wednesday's second-round matches finds defending champion and fourth-seeded Ivan Ljubicic going against Viktor Troicki.
