MLB: Atlanta 7, Colorado 1

DENVER, June 16 (UPI) -- Jair Jurrjens pitched 7 2/3 innings of shutout ball Monday when Atlanta Braves posted a 7-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies.

Jurrjens (7-3) allowed eight hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in a makeup of a scheduled April 10 game postponed due to snow.

Major League batting leader Chipper Jones went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a run and a walk. Jeff Francoeur and Brandon Jones had two-run hits for Atlanta, which has won three of its last four games.

Colorado starter Ubaldo Jimenez (1-7) gave up five walks, including two in the fifth inning when the Braves scored three runs. Jimenez allowed three runs and struck out seven in five innings for his sixth straight loss.

Matt Holiday and Garrett Atkins each had two hits and Scott Podsednik had the lone RBI for Colorado.
