LUMBRES, France, June 15 (UPI) -- England's David Dixon shot 5-under-par 66 Sunday to win the European Tour's Saint-Omer Open in Lumbres, France, by one shot.
The six-year tour veteran accomplished his stunning victory after shooting a first-round 6-over 77, which left him in a tie for 105th place.
His 72-hole total was 5-under 279 and his 18-hole performance Sunday included four straight birdies from holes 7-10.
"I don't really know what to say," Dixon told reporters after his first win on the European Tour. "I can't really get my head round it. It's going to take a while to sink in."
Second- and third-round leader Christian Nilsson (71) of Sweden finished alone in second place at 4-under 280.
Scotland's Steven O'Hara (68) finished third at 3-under 281, while three players -- England's Richard Bland (68) and Seve Benson (67) and Francois Delamontagne (71) of France -- shared fourth at 2-under 282.
