MLB: N.Y. Mets 4, Texas 2 (2nd game)

FLUSHING, N.Y., June 15 (UPI) -- Robinson Cancel broke a tie with a two-run single Sunday and the New York Mets held on for a 4-2 win over Texas in the second game of a doubleheader.

Cancel, pinch-hitting, delivered his go-ahead hit in the sixth inning and the Mets ended up with a split. Texas won the first game 8-7.

David Wright and Carlos Beltran also knocked in runs for New York.

Michael Young and Josh Hamilton drove in the Rangers' runs.

Winning pitcher Pedro Martinez (2-0) worked six innings, allowing two runs and six hits.

Texas starter Kason Gabbard (1-3) allowed four runs and eight hits over 5 2/3 innings to take the loss.
