MLB: Atlanta 9, LA Angels 4

ANAHEIM, Calif., June 15 (UPI) -- Mark Teixeira knocked in three runs Saturday to key the Atlanta Braves' 9-4 win over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Teixeira drove in his first run when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in a four-run fifth and then added a two-run eighth-inning single.

Yunel Escobar had two hits and two RBI. Four others knocked in one run, including Brandon Jones, who had three hits in five at-bats.

Gregor Blanco also had two hits for the Braves, who have won two straight following a season-high six-game losing streak.

In his major league debut, winner Charlie Morton (1-0) yielded three earned runs and five hits in six innings.

LA's Maicer Izturis hit a two-run double in the third. Torii Hunter had two hits and one RBI.

Jeff Mathis knocked in one run for the Angels, who have lost four of six overall.

The losing pitcher was starter Ervin Santana (8-3).
