LUMBRES, France, June 14 (UPI) -- Christian Nilsson shot 1-under-par 70 Saturday to carry a two-stroke lead into the final round of the Saint-Omer Open golf tournament in Lumbres, France.
To maintain his advantage atop the leader-board, the Swede needed a birdie at the 18th and final hole. His 54-hole total is 4-under 209.
"It felt great to make a birdie on the last hole to make up for the disappointment of the double bogey on 17," said Nilsson, who also led by two strokes after Friday's second round. "Overall I was really pleased with my game, although I didn't make nearly as many putts as I did yesterday."
In Sunday's closing round, Nilsson goes for his first-ever win on the European golf tour. He missed the cut in four of his seven starts this season.
England's Robert Coles (66) and Francois Delamontagne (67) of France share second place at 2-under 211.
