The scores were 7-5, 6-4.
Nadal, the top-seed and French Open men's singles champion -- seeking to be the first Spaniard in 36 years to win a grass-court tournament -- extended his winning streak to 16 straight matches.
He beat the American and defending Artois champion by converting all four of his service breaks, while Roddick lost all four of his service-break chances.
Roddick and Australia's Lleyton Hewitt had combined to win the last eight Artois titles.
"It means a lot to play so well against the defending champion who has won so many games here," Nadal said. "I felt he was the favorite because he is an amazing player on grass because of his serve."
In Sunday's title match, Nadal faces Serbian Novak Djokovic, the second seed, an easy 6-1, 6-0 winner against fourth-seeded David Nalbandian of Argentina.
