NEW YORK, June 14 (UPI) -- Saturday's inter-league contest between the Mets and Texas Rangers at New York's Shea Stadium was postponed because of rain.

It will be made up Sunday afternoon as part of a rare doubleheader for both clubs.

Saturday's scheduled pitchers were the Mets' Pedro Martinez and the Rangers' Kason Gabbard.

The Mets said on their Web site Martinez would pitch the second game Sunday. There was no immediate word on Gabbard's status for Sunday.

The Mets rolled to a 7-1 win in Friday's opener of the three-game series.
