Derek Lee had three hits and Edmonds two for the National League Central-leading Cubs, who have won five of their last six games.
Winner Jason Marquis (5-3) surrendered an earned run and just four hits in seven innings.
Toronto's Matt Stairs and Lyle Overbay had one RBI each. Brad Wilkerson had two of the six hits for the Blue Jays, who opened the inter-league series at Rogers Centre with a 3-2 victory Friday night.
