Ben Francisco drove in three runs and Jamey Carroll had a career-best four hits for the Indians.

Livan Hernandez (6-4) was shelled for seven runs and 12 hits in three-plus innings. The Indians had been the only major league team Hernandez had never faced in his career.

The Indians had a 1-0 lead entering the third, which Carroll began with a single. Francisco then reached on an infield single and, one out later, David Dellucci loaded the bases with a single.

Jhonny Peralta singled in two runs and Choo followed with a homer to right.
