Queen's granddaughter off Olympic team

LONDON, June 11 (UPI) -- Zara Phillips, granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth, is off the British Olympic team because of an injury to her horse.

Phillips already holds a world championship in eventing with her horse, Toytown. She has no other available horse for this year's Summer Games in Beijing, The Daily Telegraph reported Wednesday.

"I am very disappointed not to have the opportunity to ride at the Olympic Games," Phillips said. "However, with horses, these things happen and we still have a very strong team. I wish them every success."

Phillips is the daughter of Princess Anne and her first husband, Mark Phillips, both world-class riders themselves. The couple rejected any royal titles or duties for their children.

Because Phillips, at 27, is young for an equestrian event rider, she still has hopes of competing in the 2012 London games.
