MIAMI, June 11 (UPI) -- Dan Uggla unleashed a long, grand slam homer with one out in the ninth Wednesday, giving Florida a 6-2 victory over Philadelphia.
The Marlins have won four out of five and inched within two games of the Phillies for the top spot in the National League East.
Jorge Cantu hit two solo homers to put Florida in front by a run going into the ninth, but Kevin Gregg blew a save attempt when Chase Utley's fielder's choice grounder drove in Eric Bruntlett from third.
Gregg (5-2) eventually worked his way out of a bases-loaded jam to keep the game tied and he picked up the win thanks to a quick Florida outburst against Tom Gordon in the bottom half of the inning.
Gordon (5-3) walked Hanley Ramirez to start the inning, after which Jeremy Hermida popped out to third while attempting to bunt.
Cantu then singled for his third hit of the night and Wes Helms walked to load the bases. Uggla followed with his huge homer on a 2-2 count, his 19th of the season.
