
PITTSBURGH, June 10 (UPI) -- Lastings Milledge clubbed a two-run homer in the top of the ninth Tuesday, handing the Washington Nationals a 7-6 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Ronnie Belliard went 3-for-4 with two homers for the Nationals, who hit five home runs in the game. Dmitri Young and Jesus Flores added solo homers.
Tim Redding gave up four runs on eight hits in six innings for Washington. Joel Hanrahan (2-2) got the win for throwing a perfect two-thirds of an inning,
Ryan Doumit led by going 4-for-4 with two home runs, two doubles and three RBI.
Pirates starter Paul Maholm gave up one run through six innings, but surrendered three solo homers in the seventh, and ended up lasting 6 2/3 innings after allowing the four runs on 10 hits. Matt Capps (0-1) gave up two runs to blow his first save and take the loss.
