PITTSBURGH, June 9 (UPI) -- Zach Duke allowed two runs and five hits over six innings in helping the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 5-3 victory Monday over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Duke improved to 4-4 on the season. He was supported by Luis Rivas, who drove in two runs as the Pirates beat Arizona starter Randy Johnson, 4-3.

Pittsburgh scored in four consecutive innings off Johnson, starting off in the third inning when Johnson and the Pirates' Doug Mientkiewicz got into an argument. Both benches cleared but no punches were thrown.

Mientkiewicz worked Johnson for a walk. The pitcher committed an error and gave the Pirates their first run with a bases-loaded walk.

Jason Michaels, who also walked, scored the second Pittsburgh run the following inning on a Jose Bautista sacrifice fly. The Pirates added a run in the fifth when Jack Wilson, who walked, scored on a Xavier Nady double. Mientkiewicz got the fourth Pirate run on a Rivas single, who later reached home and made the score 5-1.

Mark Reynolds had a home run among his three hits and also scored on a Chris Young double. Stephen Drew had a home run for Arizona in the eighth.
