
COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 7 (UPI) -- Ryan Johnson and Ramiro Corrales scored Saturday to lead the San Jose Earthquakes to a 2-0 Major League Soccer win over the Columbus Crew.
The Earthquakes (3-6-1) won for the second time in their last three contests and avenged a May 10 3-2 loss to the Crew.
Columbus (6-4-1) scored three goals in an 11-minute stretch to rally for its fifth straight victory in that game, but hasn't scored a goal since then and is winless in its last four games -- including three straight losses.
Columbus came close to ending its goalless streak less than 10 minutes into the match when Guillermo Barros Schelotto delivered a free kick from the right side that Chad Marshall headed on goal. San Jose goalie Joe Cannon made an easy save on the Crew's only shot on goal in the half in the ninth minute.
