BRIDGEVIEW, Ill., June 7 (UPI) -- Major League Soccer MVP Luciano Emilio broke a tie in the second half Saturday to give D.C. United a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Fire.

United (4-7-1) was playing with just nine men after two ejections when Emilio scored the winning goal. It was the third straight game Emilio has scored a goal and United's first road win of the season.

The Fire (6-3-1) -- who entered the game four points back of Eastern Conference leaders New England with two games in hand -- scored the first goal in the game on a pass from Cuauhtemoc Blanco to Chad Barrett in the first half-hour.

United forward Jaime Moreno scored his fifth goal of the season just after the hour mark to tie the game.
