
WASHINGTON, June 7 (UPI) -- Jonathan Sanchez and two relievers combined on a four-hit shutout Saturday when the San Francisco Giants beat the Washington Nationals 6-0.
Sanchez (5-3) gave up four hits in seven scoreless innings and benefited from San Francisco's six-run eighth inning.
Rookie John Bowker capped the outburst with his first career grand slam homer. Rich Aurilia had three hits and one RBI.
Bengie Molina had two hits and one RBI, while Jose Castillo added two hits for the Giants, who have split their last four games.
Relievers Tyler Walker and Patrick Misch completed the shutout.
Four players had one hit apiece for the struggling Nationals, who have scored one run in their last two games and have lost six of seven.
Losing pitcher Shawn Hill (0-3) gave up two earned runs and seven hits in 7 1/3 innings, but reliever Luis Ayala gave up four runs in the eighth.
Washington lost 10-1 on Friday.
