DETROIT, June 7 (UPI) -- Edgar Renteria's grand slam homer capped a six-run eighth inning Saturday and gave the Detroit Tigers a come-from-behind 8-4 victory against Cleveland.
Detroit trailed 2-0 early and 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth before its game-winning rally.
Renteria led Detroit with three hits. Carlos Guillen had two hits, including a two-run homer in the fourth.
Marcus Thames and Miguel Cabrera knocked in one run each, while Thames and Magglio Ordonez added two hits each for the Tigers, who snapped a four-game losing streak.
The winner was reliever Zach Miner (3-3).
Closer Todd Jones recorded his ninth save by retiring the game's final batter in the top of the ninth.
Cleveland got one RBI apiece from Ryan Garko, Kelly Shoppach Shin-Soo Choo, and one run scored on Cabrera's second-inning fielding error.
Grady Sizemore and Casey Blake had two hits apiece for the Indians, who have split their last six games.
The losing pitcher was Masa Kobayashi (3-3).
