Pittsburgh Pirates vs St. Louis Cardinals

ST. LOUIS, June 3 (UPI) -- Jason Michaels hit a grand slam homer in the seventh and Jason Bay had the winning RBI in the eighth Monday to give Pittsburgh a 5-4 win over St. Louis.

St. Louis pitcher Adam Wainwright (5-3) had a 4-0 lead before Michaels' grand slam. Bay had a one-out double and Wainwright gave up his only two walks in eight innings before Michaels pinch hit for Raul Chavez.

Matt Capps collected his 11th save of the season with a scoreless ninth, while Franquelis Osoria (3-1) picked up the victory with 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Wainwright gave up five runs on seven hits in eight innings..

Pirates starter Tom Gorzelanny gave up four runs on seven hits with three walks in six innings.
