MINNEAPOLIS, June 1 (UPI) -- Bobby Abreu's RBI single in the top of the 12th inning Saturday gave the New York Yankees a 7-6 victory at Minnesota.
The Twins had tied the contest 6-6 on Michael Cuddyer's solo homer in the bottom of the seventh inning and the next four innings were scoreless.
Abreu and Alex Rodriguez knocked in two runs each. Three players had one RBI apiece and Johnny Damon, like Abreu, had two hits for the Yankees, who have won three in a row and eight of 10.
The winner was Ross Ohlendorf (1-1). Closer Mariano Rivera earned his 15th save this season with a 1-2-3 12th inning.
Cuddyer also hit an RBI single in the third. Four players had one RBI each, while Delmon Young and Mike Lamb had three hits apiece for the Twins, who have split their last four games.
The losing pitcher was Juan Rincon (2-2).
