June 1, 2008 at 7:49 PM   |   Comments

PHOENIX, June 1 (UPI) -- Arizona's Orlando Hudson slammed a three-run home run and Dan Haren and two relievers shut down Washington's offense in a 5-0 Diamondbacks victory Sunday.

Hudson homered in the first inning and the Diamondbacks coasted behind Haren (6-4), who scattered four hits with five strikeouts in seven innings.

Chad Qualls and Tony Pena preserved the shutout, each tossing a perfect inning of relief.

The Nationals, who have lost five of seven games, had one extra base hit -- a double by Jesus Flores.

Washington starter Shawn Hill (0-2) lasted four innings, giving up all of Arizona's runs.
