NEW YORK, May 31 (UPI) -- An RBI single by Fernando Tatis capped a three-run rally in the bottom of the eighth Saturday and gave the New York Mets a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Before Tatis' game-winning hit, centerfielder Carlos Beltran launched a no-out, two-run homer.
The late heroics stopped a day of futility for the Mets, who were held scoreless after only four hits against Los Angeles starter Chad Billingsley.
Carlos Delgado had two hits while shortstop Jose Reyes extended his hitting streak to 16 games with a third inning single for the Mets, who have won four of five.
The winner was Duaner Sanchez (2-0). Closer Billy Wagner earned his 11th save.
The Mets rally came against losing pitcher Jonathan Broxton (2-2).
Blake DeWitt led Los Angeles with two hits and one RBI.
A run scored on Reyes' first-inning fielding error and Billingsley walked three batters and struck out four for the Dodgers, who have dropped five of six.
