DUBLIN, Ohio, May 31 (UPI) -- Mathew Goggin's 1-under 71 Saturday gave him a three-shot lead after three rounds of The Memorial in Dublin, Ohio.
Goggin finished 54 holes at 8-under 208 to position himself for his first PGA Tour victory. If he wins Sunday, the Australian will be the first wire-to-wire winner in Memorial history.
Kenny Perry, a two-time winner and overnight co-leader with Goggin, birdied the last hole for a 74 and a tie for second place with former Masters champion Mike Weir (68), Justin Rose (70), Matt Kuchar (71) and Jerry Kelly (73). The group was at 5-under 211.
There was a lengthy weather delay Saturday before the round was completed.
Nick O'Hern shot an even-par 72 and was seventh at 212. Former U.S. Open winner Geoff Ogilvy (73), J.B. Holmes (70) and Luke Donald (74) were tied for eighth at 213.
Phil Mickelson, last week's winner at Colonial, had a 70 and was tied for 18th at 217.
