NEW YORK, May 30 (UPI) -- Big Brown is a "foregone conclusion" to capture the elusive Triple Crown despite a foot injury that temporarily halted training, trainer Richard Dutrow says.

The undefeated colt easily won the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness and will be a solid choice to win the June 7 Belmont Stakes, becoming the first since Affirmed 30 years ago to win thoroughbred racing's most prestigious honor.

"I feel that he will do it. It's actually a foregone conclusion for me," Dutrow said during a conference call. "I see the horses in with him and I see our horse, and I expect him to win it."

A slight quarter crack in his left front hoof kept Big Brown from training for the 1½-mile Belmont for three days before he returned to the track for a jog Tuesday, USA Today reported Friday. He has galloped since then and his effusive trainer is unfazed.

"He's looking for action," says Dutrow.
