ATLANTA, May 30 (UPI) -- Georgia Tech baseball player Michael Hutts died of an accidental heroin overdose, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Friday.

The conclusion was reached in an autopsy by the Fulton County (Ga.) medical examiner.

The autopsy found that Hutts' blood also tested positive for morphine, heroin and trace amounts of other substances. The 21-year-old junior was found dead in his bed at his apartment on April 11 by fellow player and roommate Ryan Tinkoff.

The newspaper also said Tinkoff told police that Hutts had been drinking alcohol the night before and an acquaintance known to use heroin -- "possibly with Mr. Hutts," arrived at their apartment.

Tinkoff told investigators Hutts' eyes were dilated before he went to bed and that his arm was a "purplish color" when he found him Friday afternoon.

The medical examiner's report said Tinkoff "denied actually observing (Hutts) use any type of drugs and denied moving any drugs or drug paraphernalia from (Hutts') bedroom when he found the body."
