PHOENIX, May 30 (UPI) -- Randy Winn's ninth-inning homer Thursday gave San Francisco a 4-3 victory over Arizona, during which Randy Johnson reached a major milestone.
Winn led off the ninth by blasting his second home run of the game, a drive to left off Chad Qualls (0-5).
San Francisco tied the game in the eighth when Tony Pena issued a bases-loaded walk to pinch-hitter Fred Lewis.
The Giants swept the three-game series, marking the first time the Diamondbacks have been swept at home this season.
Tyler Walker (3-3) got the win by working the eighth and Brian Wilson needed only eight pitches in the ninth to record his 16th save.
Johnson, 44, struck out Dan Ortmeier to open the seventh, the 4,672nd strikeout of his career. That tied Roger Clemens for second place on the all-time list.
Johnson did not strike out another batter in the inning and was replaced in the eighth. The career strikeout record holder is Nolan Ryan with 5,714.
