SAN ANTONIO, May 29 (UPI) -- NBA officials erred on the final play of the San Antonio-Los Angeles Lakers Game 4 of the Western Conference finals, a league spokesman says.

A foul should have been called on the Lakers' Derek Fisher when, with less than 2 seconds to go, he jumped to defend a 3-point shot by Brent Barry, the unidentified spokesman told the San Antonio Express-News.

Fisher made contact with Barry on the way down after the Spurs guard pump-faked, but no foul was called. Barry's shot missed its mark, sealing the Lakers' 93-91 victory.

"It appears a foul should have been called," the spokesman said to the Express-News.
