Bengals' Johnson owes thousands in taxes

CINCINNATI, May 29 (UPI) -- The Hamilton County, Ohio, Auditor's Office says Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson owes $13,063.35 in property taxes.

The office's tax records revealed $12,780.30 of the taxes owed on the player's home in the Walnut Hills neighborhood is considered delinquent, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported Thursday.

Johnson, whose desire to leave the Bengals has been the subject of recent headlines, purchased the condominium in 2004 for $252,000, property records show. The player has pulled in a $2.5 million base salary under his 2006 contract plus $10.25 million in bonuses he has earned under the document.
