MLB: Oakland 3, Toronto 1

OAKLAND, Calif., May 28 (UPI) -- Greg Smith shut out the Toronto Blue Jays for 6 2/3 shutout innings Tuesday and the Oakland Athletics grabbed a 3-1 decision that ran their win streak to five.

Smith scattered six hits and one walk as he ended his five-start winless streak and improved to 3-4. Huston Street pitched a scoreless ninth for his 12th save.

Jack Hannahan and Bobby Crosby drove in runs for the A's, while Emil Brown singled, stole a base and scored a run.

A.J. Burnett (5-5) struck out 10 in 5 2/3 innings but allowed all three Oakland three runs -- two earned -- on seven hits.

Kevin Mench drove in the only run for the Jays, whose five-game win streak ended. Alex Rios went 2-for-4 and scored.
