MLB: N.Y. Yankees 4, Baltimore 2

BALTIMORE, May 28 (UPI) -- Andy Pettitte survived 6 2/3 innings Wednesday and won his second straight in the New York Yankees' 4-2 decision over Baltimore.

Pettitte (5-5) has a 24-6 career record against the Orioles, easily the most wins he has had against any club in the majors. He gave up two runs on eight hits and struck out three. His two-game win streak follows a skid in which he had lost four in a row.

Baltimore's only runs came on a two-run blast by Melvin Mora in the third that gave the Orioles a 2-1 lead.

New York tied it in the fourth on Jason Giambi's solo shot, his second RBI of the game, and the Yankees took the lead an inning later on Derek Jeter's sacrifice fly.

An infield single in the ninth by Johnny Damon drove in Hideki Matsui with an insurance run.

Mariano Rivera came in to work the ninth, picked up his 13th save and allowed the Yankees to salvage the finale of a three-game series.
