MLB: Texas 12, Tampa Bay 6

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., May 27 (UPI) -- Josh Hamilton hit a grand slam and totaled five RBI Tuesday, propelling the Texas Rangers to a 12-6 victory over Tampa Bay.

Hamilton also doubled and Brandon Boggs was 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI for Texas, which has five of its last seven games. Jarrod Saltalamacchia had three hits, including a pair of doubles, for the Rangers.

Vicente Padilla (7-2) was the winner after giving up five runs on seven hits in six innings. He had 10 strikeouts.

Cliff Floyd and Eric Hinske each hit a two-run home run for Tampa Bay, which had a four-game win streak end.

Andy Sonnanstine (6-3) was the losing pitcher after giving up seven runs -- just two earned -- on 10 hits in five innings.
