
WASHINGTON, May 26 (UPI) -- Gabe Kapler drove in Prince Fielder with an 11th-inning pinch-hit single Monday to give the Milwaukee Brewers a 4-3 victory over the Washington Nationals.
Fielder was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Jason Kendall also drove in a run for the Brewers.
Milwaukee starter Ben Sheets gave up two runs on seven hits, while striking out six and not issuing a walk. Carlos Villanueva (3-5) got the win with two scoreless innings of relief.
Cristian Guzman and Dmitri Young each hit a solo homer for Washington, which has lost four of its last six games.
Washington starter Jason Bergmann pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing only four hits. The right-hander, who has not given up a run in 19 2/3 innings, struck out eight and walked one.
Saul Rivera (3-2) took the loss after yielding a run on three hits in two innings.
