Alabama tops BCS football poll
Wednesday, November 26
The winners needed the closing drama after blowing an early 6-0 advantage.
Washington built its lead with the help of Wily Mo Pena's two-run double in the fourth and Aaron Boone's two-run homer in the fifth. Boone had two hits and was the only player with more than one for the Nationals, who have won twice in the four-game holiday weekend series.
The winner was Jon Rauch (3-1).
Milwaukee erased its deficit by scoring six times in the top of the sixth. Corey Hart belted a two-run homer and Mike Cameron hit a two-run double, while Joe Dillon and Gabe Kapler had one RBI each.
Four players had two hits apiece for the Brewers, who have lost three of four.
Losing pitcher Guillermo Mota (1-3) uncorked the wild pitch that let in the game-winner.
