The Padres, who had lost six of eight games, also had four solo homers -- two by Kevin Kouzmanoff and one each by Paul McAnulty and Scott Hairston.

Winner Josh Banks (1-0) pitched the final six innings.

Adrian Dunn and Brandon Phillips each hit a two-run homer for the Reds.
