MLB: Colorado 4, N.Y. Mets 1

DENVER, May 25 (UPI) -- Seth Smith slammed a three-run home run and Aaron Cook pitched a complete game for the Colorado Rockies in a 4-1 win Sunday over the struggling New York Mets.

Smith, who was called up from the minors Saturday, belted his first major league homer in the fourth inning.

Cook (7-3) yielded just four hits in the seventh complete game of his career. His pitching and Smith's homer carried the Rockies, who had just three hits.

The Mets have lost six of their last seven games.

Jose Reyes drove in the Mets' only run, singling in Endy Chavez in the fourth inning.

John Maine (5-4) was the loser, allowing four runs and three hits in six innings.
