CORNING, N.Y., May 25 (UPI) -- Leta Lindley won her first LPGA title Sunday, rolling in a 7-foot birdie putt to beat Jeong Jang in a playoff at the Corning Classic in New York.

Lindley, who had played in 295 LPGA events without a win, shot a 5-under-par 67 and Jang a 68 in the final round, tying at 11-under 277.

"I am thrilled," Lindley said after winning on the first hole of the playoff. "I dreamed about this day for over 13 years. And, gosh, for awhile you kind of wonder if it's ever going to come."

Lindley said her approach shot on the playoff hole "was one of the best shots I hit today."

Mi Hyun Kim and Sun Young Yoo each shot a final-found 66 and shared third place at 10-under 278.
