Mickelson has 1-shot lead at Colonial

FORT WORTH, Texas, May 24 (UPI) -- Phil Mickelson turned in a 5-under 65 Saturday to take a one-stroke lead after three rounds of the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Fort Worth, Texas.

Mickelson, who stands at 12-under 198, owned the 54-hole lead for the 29th time in his PGA Tour career. The left-hander has won two of his last three and 11 of 14 when holding at least a piece of the 54-hole lead.

Rod Pampling posted a 7-under 63 to climb into a share of second place at 11-under 199. He is tied with Stephen Ames, who shot a 64.

Tim Clark, who has just one top-20 finish this season, also had a 64 to move into fourth at 9-under 201.

Brian Gay, Kevin Sutherland and Ben Crane share fifth place at 7-under.
