SPEEDWAY, Ind., May 24 (UPI) -- Auto racing driver Danica Patrick says there is "no reason" why she can't win the Indianapolis 500 Sunday.

Patrick, 26, made headlines in April when she became the first female driver to take first place in an IndyCar race at in the Indy Japan 300.

Patrick said she is fatigued from her busy schedule but seemed self-assured about winning the Indy 500 when reporters crowded around her at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, The Miami Herald reported Saturday.

"There is no reason why I can't win this race at all,'' Patrick said. "This is a month to take advantage of the fact (that the media is) watching, and the world is watching."

Patrick's leading Andretti Green Racing team and strong performance history are likely motivations for her confident attitude about the race, the Herald said.
