PITTSBURGH, May 22 (UPI) -- Nate McLouth had four hits and scored three times Thursday in helping the Pittsburgh Pirates halt a three-game losing streak with an 8-4 win over Milwaukee.
Jason Bay added a two-run homer for the Pirates and Xavier Nady had a solo shot. Milwaukee out-hit Pittsburgh 14-13, but failed in a bid to sweep the three-game series. It was the Brewers' sixth loss in eight games.
Tom Groveland (4-4) gave up two runs on eight hits over five-plus innings to get the win.
The loss went to Dave Bush (1-5), who surrendered six runs on nine hits in five innings.
Corey Hart gave Milwaukee a 1-0 lead in the fourth with a homer, but the Pirates took charge with four runs in the bottom half of the inning. McLouth singled with one away and Bay followed with his 11th homer of the season. Nady was then hit by a pitch, Adam LaRoche singled to right and Raul Chavez singled in Nady.
A base hit from Tom Gorzelanny delivered LaRoche with the fourth run of the inning.
