MLB: Minnesota 11, Texas 4

MINNEAPOLIS, May 21 (UPI) -- Minnesota's Glen Perkins got his first major league victory and the Twins had 13 hits Tuesday in an 11-4 victory over the Texas Rangers.

Perkins (1-1) allowed three runs -- two earned -- on six hits without issuing a walk in his third career start.

Joe Mauer went 3-for-4, scoring twice and driving in a run. Delmon Young drove in two runs and scored twice for the Twins. Alexi Casilla and Mike Lamb both added two RBI for the Twins.

Josh Hamilton had his major-league leading 51st RBI for Texas, which has lost three straight.

Rangers starter Doug Mathis (1-1) lasted just 2 1/3 frames as he gave up nine runs -- six earned -- on eight hits and four walks in his first major league start.
