MIAMI, May 21 (UPI) -- Coach Tony Sparano says former all-pro defensive end Jason Taylor is skipping the Miami Dolphins voluntary mini-camps and organized team activities.

The six-time Pro Bowl selection finished an off-season stint on the "Dancing with the Stars" television show Tuesday in Los Angeles and made guest appearances on ABC's Good Morning America and the syndicated show "Live with Regis and Kelly," Wednesday morning in New York. Taylor was the runner-up to Olympic gold medal winning ice skater Kristi Yamaguchi.

"I know that Jason is not going to be at any mini-camps," Sparano said in the Miami Herald newspaper. "And I know that, right now, Jason is not going to be at training camp. That's all I'm going to say about it."

The newspaper added that the relationship that began when the Dolphins drafted Taylor out of Akron in the 1997 draft's third round is over.

Other reports have said Taylor, the 2006 NFL defensive player of the year, wants to be traded.
