WASHINGTON, May 20 (UPI) -- Greg Dobbs, struggling with a bad back, drove in Eric Bruntlett in the ninth with the game's only run Tuesday in Philadelphia's 1-0 win over Washington.
Dobbs, who didn't start Tuesday because of his back, punched a pinch-hit single in front of Lastings Milledge in center for the RBI.
The ninth-inning scoring began with Pedro Feliz hitting a double into the left-field corner. Carlos Ruiz bunted pinch-runner Bruntlett to third, and Dobbs got his game-winning hit off Jon Rauch (2-1).
Elijah Dukes and pinch-hitter Rob Mackowiak each walked in the bottom of ninth, but Felipe Lopez grounded out with the tying run at third to end the game.
Cole Hamels worked the first seven innings for Philadelphia. He struck out 11 while allowing four hits and two walks. In his previous outing, he shut out Atlanta and Tuesday he stretched his scoreless innings streak to 19 1/3. Tom Gordon (4-2) got the victory.
