SALT LAKE CITY, May 19 (UPI) -- Utah forward Paul Millsap will have surgery Thursday to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb, Jazz General Manager Kevin O'Connor announced Monday.

Millsap suffered the injury in Utah's 108-105 loss to the Lakers this past Friday in Game 6 of their Western Conference semifinal series, which eliminated the Jazz from the playoffs.

Dr. Steven Huish, who will perform the surgery, confirmed the injury after Millsap sought a second opinion.

In his second season with the Jazz, Millsap averaged 20.8 minutes per game while appearing in all 82 contests with two starts.
