NEW ORLEANS, May 19 (UPI) -- Manu Ginobili scored 26 points Monday to lead the San Antonio Spurs into the Western Conference finals with a 91-82 victory over New Orleans.
Ginobili made all six of his free throws in the final minute.
The Spurs, who nearly blew a 14-point fourth-quarter lead, became the only team to win a road game in the semifinal series. The defending NBA champions did it in Game 7 to keep the Hornets from their first trip to the conference finals.
San Antonio opens the conference finals against the Lakers Wednesday in Los Angeles.
Tim Duncan added 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Spurs, who seek a fifth championship in 10 years.
David West had 20 points and nine rebounds for the Hornets. Jannero Pargo scored 16 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter. Chris Paul had 18 points, eight rebounds and 14 assists and Tyson Chandler had 13 points and 15 rebounds for New Orleans.
