Boston -- which won the opener 5-3 -- wasted a 5-0 lead in the second game, but scored twice in the seventh. The other run scored on David Ortiz's ground-out.
Mike Lowell hit a two-run double in the first and a two-run homer in the third. A run scored on Bill Hall's fifth-inning fielding error while Youkilis also had two hits for the Red Sox, who have split their last four contests.
Craig Hansen (1-2) picked up the win despite surrendering three unearned runs in the seventh.
Milwaukee's Craig Counsell and Rickie Weeks both had two RBI. Corey Hart had two hits, one a solo homer in the sixth.
Mike Rivera hit an RBI ground-out in the seventh while both Counsell and Weeks had two hits for the Brewers, who have dropped four in a row.
The losing pitcher was reliever Salomon Torres (3-1).
